We appreciated staying in this lovely place. Free parking & courteous staff.
It offers reasonable prices. Overall, it's easy base for exploring Cape May attractions. Loved the food at their on-site restaurant The Blue Pig Tavern. Ocean queen room had central heating and a personal safe, everything worked for us.
We had a room with beach views. Excellent restaurant adjacent to the hotel...
the relaxation though there was a lot of renovation work going on that we were not warned of
location,location,location--great room great view prime location in Cape May--quiet and comfy--nice seaside air in windows that actually open
The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful and did their best to answer all my questions about the area.
The decor of the hotel was simple and quite attractive. Staff was friendly and rooms were straightened several times a day. Our ocean view was wonderful. Best of all, when we went to the beach across from the hotel, staff provided and set up an umbrella, beach chairs and towels for us where we chose- right by the water. We had a wonderful time.
I would have liked to have a small refrigerator in the room. Otherwise, it was everything we hoped for. It is, however, very expensive.
We found the location and history of Congress Hall to be great. The architecture, the old pictures hanging in the hallways, the staff, all made a memorable weekend for us.
History of building was very interesting. Decorations were very nice and staff were very serving.
We found it extremely noisy and well, over priced. Sink was loose and falling from pedestal, shower handle was falling off. Windows rattled. Every noise in the hall reverberated into the room.
Location and feel of the place was excellent. Enjoyed the Brown Bar and the Blue Pig as well.
There was a mix up in the booking, and it took several hours to get us rooms. The rooms were not what we originally booked.
Absolutely fantastic staff who were very helpful and attentive....nothing was ever an issue for them...friendly and responsive. Wonderful facility with charm and history in every room. Great corner suite with large room and bath, deep soaking tub was a real plus! Beach is beautiful and the ability to have chairs all set up right where you want them and get room service made this a very special time! Easy walking to the shopping area and numerous restaurants.
As befits the age, the soundproofing is not as good as a modern facility, but that should not be a reason to avoid this facility.......
It is a beautiful, old hotel that has enough modern amenities to be comfortable yet still charming.
What they call ocean view is stretching the truth - and requires stretching your neck. It might have been ocean view in the past, but there is a large hotel in the way now.
As a business traveler I loved the historical context of this hotel. It was a most welcome change from the cookie cutter usual hotels at which I stay. The Blue Pig was also a wonderful surprise with excellent cusine and excellent service.
My only complaint, quite minor, is that I wish I had stayed in a room with larger windows so I could have enjoyed the seascape
I stayed there specifically for the Ocean Drive Marathon, but you did not offer even a cup of coffee to me.
The hotelbar and locaton as well as the restaurants were excellent.
I thought the room furnishings were sparse and not as nice as expected.
